On application, financial assistance is provided to the working journalists of the state for treatment of illness of themselves or their dependent family members on the basis of budget allocation and eligibility. Chhattisgarh Communication Representative Welfare Rules have been implemented in place of Chhattisgarh Journalist Welfare Fund Rules 2001 and the assistance amount has been increased from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Journalist Welfare Fund Committee has been constituted by the state government to provide financial assistance.
